Manchester City regained second place in the English Premier League after winning easily 3-0 over Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Raheem Sterling advanced with a goal for City, one minute before the break, after receiving a wonderful pass with the outside of the foot from Joao Cancelo.

Rodri made it 2-0 with a stunning long-range shot past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Sterling missed an easy opportunity to score when he failed to deal with a cross, even though he was directly in front of Everton's goal.

Cole Palmer, 19, who entered City's starting line-up for the first time in the league, hit a ball that changed direction and reached Bernardo Silva to score the third goal from close range.

Chelsea leads the league with 29 points, 3 points behind City, while Liverpool is behind by an additional point and comes in third place.

Everton has been unwinnable in 6 consecutive matches and is 11th with 15 points.
