The Hyundai driver's progress has resonated in the rally world.

Today, the successful Swede has lined up strong stretch times and shadows the big World Cup stars.

He remains in fifth place ahead of Sunday.

Behind, Takamoto Katsuta, Toyota, is chasing sixth place.

The Japanese narrowed the distance to Solberg in the afternoon, but on the final dark stretch of the day he replicated and has 17.6 seconds on Katsuta before the decision.

- Oliver is on his way to his big breakthrough.

Even now he is really close to the big names.

When he has gained more experience in the WRC car and learned to find the fine adjustments, Solberg will reach the absolute WC top.

The first victory may well come as early as next year, believes Jonas Kruse, SVT's expert commentator.

"Know how to win"

Sébastien Ogier has a great opportunity to take home his eighth World Cup title tomorrow.

The Toyota driver is half a second (!) Ahead of his teammate, table runner-up, Elfyn Evans.

The only thing that can stop the Frenchman from the perfect ending is a big mistake or crash.

- Ogier knows how to win, he has the right psyche and does not have to take any risks to take home the title.

But, if ever the unexpected happens, it is probably on an occasion like this, says Kruse. The Spaniard Dani Sordo has connected a real grip on third place in the rally.
