Charlotte Kalla did her first Olympics in Whistler in 2010. Then she left the championship with a gold from the freestyle race and since then she has won Olympic gold in ski slalom and relay.

She has won three individual silver medals as well as one in team sprint and one in relay.

"Important to qualify for Ruka"

But whether there will be a fourth Olympics - with a chance of new medals - is still unclear.

The hunt there now begins in Gällivare.

- I hope that I will go fast enough before Christmas so that I can take one of the Olympic places, says Kalla.

- It is important this weekend to qualify for Ruka, but it is above all from Ruka to Lillehammer and Davos that it will be important to go fast.

Disease problems during the pre-season

Charlotte Kalla comes to the Gällivare premiere after a pre-season where a strong reaction to the covid vaccine and a prolonged stomach disease disrupted the recharge.

But in the last month, everything has gone well, she says.

- It's then and now it's just the future, and now at the end the training has gone well.

What I have done between the "hack" I am very happy with.

And if I look at spring, summer and autumn, I have had to do a good basic job, I feel safe with that.

This weekend, Kalla especially wants to have a relaxed ride and feel that the technology is right.

But she also says that the shape is more uncertain than it usually is at this time.

- We have not run a training race yet, and it is something that I usually have with me as a security in my luggage.

It will certainly be a bit rusty when you go into the competition bubble.

It will be a good rehearsal for what awaits later.
