Anna Dyvik was poked from the World Cup and after the season she made a drastic decision.

The 26-year-old chose to say no to a place in one of the national team's training groups.

Instead, she has made her own investment, which has made her feel better both physically and mentally.

- It has suited me very well, to get some peace and quiet and do the training that I know suits me, Dyvik says to SVT Sport.

She describes an everyday life with a better quality of life: She has been able to get the dog Stella, she has had more time at home - and she has trained more than she did in the national team.

- I have probably thought quite a lot about why I do what I do, and for me it is important to feel a lot of joy.

If I do not think it's fun, then I do not think it's worth doing.

Therefore, I have really focused on the joy and desire.

Dyvik: "Has stopped filling in my training diary"

During last year's Swedish premiere in Bruksvallarna, Dyvik came second in the sprint behind Maja Dahlqvist.

A result that gave her a place in the winter's first World Cup competitions in Ruka.

- For me, it would mean a lot to make a good season overall, get many good competitions.

And it's extra fun to compete in the World Cup, so I would like to do many good races there.

I hope it will be like that, Dyvik says to SVT Sport.

"The coaches have no idea"

But to get the chance in the World Cup, and perhaps pinch one of the last Olympic places, the IFK Mora skier must perform directly in the Gällivare premiere today.

- It will probably be important.

The coaches of the national team have not seen me all summer, so they have no idea where I stand.

But how much contact have you had?

- No, not so much.

They are well occupied with theirs.

So they have not heard from you to check the situation?

- No, not really.

But I guess they probably got reports from various camps and stuff.

Byström has been in control

National team manager Anders Byström says that he has had some control over how things went for Dyvik during the pre-season.

- It is an interesting skier, she has been allowed to do what she wants this year.

It will be exciting to see what it gives.

What does she need to accomplish to perhaps be included in Ruka?

- We want to see a top level, we have such a good women's team so it is important to show that you are in world-class level in fact.

It's that tough.
