For the first time, Blue Jays pitcher Ray and Brewers pitcher Burns were selected for the Cy Young Awards for Major League Baseball pitchers of the year.

Shohei Ohtani of the Angels did not get a vote.

The Cy Young Award is given to the pitcher who was the most active in the regular season in honor of Cy Young, the big pitcher who won a total of 511 wins in the history of the major leagues, and 30 reporters belonging to the Baseball Writers' Association of America Vote from 1st to 5th place.

The winners of both leagues were announced on the 17th, with the Blue Jays pitcher Ray in the American League and the Brewers pitcher Burns in the National League for the first time.

Pitcher Ray on the left arm won the title of best defense rate and most strikeouts with 13 wins and 7 losses, ERA 2.84, and 248 strikeouts, and 29 out of 30 people voted first.

In the National League, Pitcher Burns, who had the highest ERA with 11 wins and 5 losses and an ERA of 2.43, and Pitcher Wheeler of Phillies, who had 14 wins and an ERA of 2.78, both collected the first place votes from 12 people. Pitcher Burns, who scored 151 points with the votes in second place and below, surpassed only 10 points.

Otani of the Angels had a high level of pitching content, such as the ERA and batting average equivalent to 2nd place in the league, but the number of pitches was 130 times, which was one-third innings and 9 wins without reaching the prescribed number of pitches. I stayed and didn't get any votes.
