German Stubb .. the first coach of the Saudi women's national team

The Saudi Football Association officially announced the launch of the work of Monica Stabb, the first coach of the women's soccer team in the history of the Kingdom, in a special event held at the Union Center.

The German coach is one of the pioneers in the development of women's football around the world, and holds a wide balance of diverse experiences in the world of professional football, training national teams, managing clubs and occupying high-level executive positions.

The women’s football scene in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gained increasing momentum, especially after the establishment of the first specialized women’s football department in 2019 under the supervision of former board member Ms. Adwaa Al-Arifi and led by Lamia Bin Bahian, a former amateur player, certified lawyer and board member of the Saudi Football Association . Under the inspirational Saudi Vision 2030, women’s sports witnessed an impressive increase in participation and interaction rates, reaching 149 percent over the past four years. Currently, more than 195,000 girls between the ages of 5-15 do sports on a weekly basis, which impressed Stubb and increased her enthusiasm for the new position.

Stubb's admiration for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia goes back to before accepting the new position, especially when she visited it to provide a training course to grant training licenses to C-class female coaches.
