I had quite a few requests to tell about my year, be it a book or a documentary, and I wanted to agree to do something to keep track of the 2021 season with the rainbow jersey on my shoulders.

 », Says the young dad.

For Julian Alaphilippe, the year 2021 will remain etched in his memory with the birth of his son and this

 world

champion's jersey

ginned throughout the season.

With, he won a stage of the Tour de France, the Flèche Wallonne, a stage of Tirreno-Adriatico in Italy.

Above all, he won solo in

Louvain

in September, and thus became the first Frenchman to win the title of world champion twice, and successively.

To talk about everything

In

My Rainbow Year

, through texts, interviews and photos, the 29-year-old cyclist invites his readers to take his wheel to discover his daily life.

“

It was easy to talk about yourself, to be transparent, without hiding moments of doubt and disappointment.

I didn't want there to be all super cool stuff in this book.

I wanted to talk about everything!

“,

Enthuses Julian Alaphilippe who does not know if there will be a volume two with his second title of world champion.

“I retraced my year 2021 without imagining for a single moment that I could become world champion again

 ”.

“

I'm still young, but time flies.

I am thirty years old, and it is good to talk about how far I have come.

I didn't want to write this book to be a cycling ambassador, but to leave a mark and share my story with the general public.

I want to give cycling a good image, nothing more,

”assures the one who has to keep time for himself.

Popular, he says to have "

remained the same

 ", despite the solicitations.

“

I like to share,

 ” he simply slips.

Still shine on the Tour de France

Julian Alaphilippe still has dreams in his head.

Soon to be 30, he is still “

thirsty

 ” for victories.

When it comes to entering his second part of his career, he always says he is very “

motivated

 ”.

“

But I want to set goals for myself so that I am not everywhere,

” he warns.

Julian Alaphilippe does not see himself excluded from the Tour de France.

“

The Tour, we all dream of it.

I still want to shine on the Tour.

I still remember what I felt when I first participated.

It really is a race apart

.

“He would see himself exchanging a title from his world champion titles for an overall victory in the Tour de France.

"

But for the moment, by choice, I have not bet everything on the Tour

", specifies Alaphilippe.

In the meantime, Julian Alaphilippe still intends to shine on the classics and would see himself participating in Paris-Roubaix.

And even if he doesn't think about it every day, he has Paris 2024 in the back of his mind.

My rainbow year,
