The National Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers, Anfac, has exploded against the Government of Pedro Sánchez, whom it warns that

"the problems of the industry are worsening" and accuses the Executive of not taking "forceful measures"

of support to the automotive industry, "a boost to electrification and the renewal of the park."

Manufacturers complain above all that their amendments on taxation that they have proposed to the draft General State Budgets (PGE) have not been accepted.

"All the fiscal amendments presented to the budgets have been rejected despite having been presented by several political parties of different biases,"

attacks Anfac, who considers that their measures created "positive conditions to advance in the recovery, in the penetration of the electrified vehicle and in the renovation of the park, and were the necessary complement to other measures made possible thanks to the funds approved by Brussels. "

The measures to which the manufacturers refer are, fundamentally, those relating to taxation for the use of electrified vehicles and the extension of the period for adapting the Registration Tax.

The Government suspended the increase in this rate, associated with the new manufacturers' emissions index, until December 31. But since the situation in the industry has not improved (especially due to the shortage of microchips and the rise in the price of raw materials, which are also scarce), manufacturers have asked for this tax increase to continue to freeze.

In its statement, the association notes that there is "unease" in the industry in the face of "great uncertainty at a critical time."

"

We need more forceful initiatives, with a broad spectrum, and under a common approach, which allow Spain, in terms of renovation of the park, electrification and industrial support, to be at the level of the neighboring countries

", they affirmed from the association.

Labor reform and Automotive Board

Anfac also criticizes the state of uncertainty in the face of

"the labor reform, which puts flexibility for automotive factories at risk

.

"

Uncertainty about the work environment aggravates an already difficult situation due to the lack of microchips, falling demand and the necessary competition between factories in other countries for the award of models. It supposes

"a serious risk in the competitiveness of the Spanish factories"

.

For manufacturers,

the Automotive Board is a fiasco, since it hardly meets or makes decisions

.

It should be, in the opinion of the association, "the central forum where

measures and priorities that promote the transformation of the automotive industry in Spain

are jointly

discussed

, while maintaining production and employment in a key sector for the Spanish economy."

Anfac also requests the activation of funds for the automotive PERTE, promised by Industry before the end of the year.

It affects the

"increasingly urgent need for the PERTE funds for the automotive sector to be activated, funds that Brussels has approved and which have to reach companies as soon as possible

.

"

José Vicente de los Mozos, president of Anfac

, claimed that "in the face of this situation of uncertainty in fiscal and labor matters, a comprehensive vision of the automotive sector and a more comprehensive support policy is needed to promote industry, electrification and also the renovation of the park. The problems are getting worse and

the new risks complicate the situation a lot, at a time when we need certainty, since we have to compete fiercely with other countries in our environment to award us the models for the future

. "

The Anfac leader and senior position of the Renault Group worldwide and president of the brand in Spain, adds that "the industry has already set to work, we are bringing models and investments, but we need

a clear and common program of measures forceful, including taxation and labor regulations.

We have a very important challenge ahead of us and the situation requires rapid and effective action. "
