- The acquisition of the WC package strengthens SVT's already strong position in athletics, where in the next few years we will broadcast, among other things, the European Championships, WC, Diamond League and Finnkampen, says SVT's sports director Åsa Edlund Jönsson.
Athletics is the second most popular sport on television according to the Swedish people and Sweden has some of the world's most brilliant stars with Armand Duplantis and Daniel Ståhl at the helm.

With this important right, SVT will gather the Swedish people around common experiences and successes throughout the 20s, says SVT's media director Jan Helin.
The agreement covers the outdoor championships in athletics 2025, 2027 and 2029, the indoor WC 2024, 2026 and 2028 and three junior WCs.

The new exclusive agreement means that SVT will broadcast four of the five upcoming outdoor world championships in athletics.
