Swedish star rider Peder Fredricson crowned his successful season tonight.
At the Fei Awards (International Equestrian Federation gala), he was awarded the Rider of the Year award.
Fredricson did not receive it at the gala, but thanked in a pre-recorded speech.
- I am very, very happy, proud and honored, he said.
The other nominees were Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (Germany, dressage), Julia Krajewski (field competition, Germany) and Sir Lee Pearson (paradressure, UK).
This year, Fredricson, along with the horse All In, won Olympic gold in team jumping, took individual Olympic silver in Tokyo, became world number one and won the Global Champions Tour.
