These are Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov, ranked number 10 and 14 in the world.
"I have to pull out of the Davis Cup and end my season.
I have been suffering from an injury for some time and the doctors recommend that I rest before the next season starts ", says Auger-Aliassime.
But the decision to make the decision has been tough for the 21-year-old.
"It is always a great pride to represent my country and therefore it has not been an easy decision.
The team has all my support and I wish them luck in Madrid ", he continues.

As recently as Sunday, Denis Shapovalov played the final in the Stockholm Open.

"Unfortunately, I will not participate in the Davis Cup.

The duo is replaced by 30-year-old Steven Diez.
