Several veterans were missing when the European Championship qualifiers for Sweden took place on Sunday.

The blue and yellow heroes fell by 19 points against Latvia, but initially made a good effort.

Klara Lundquist was one of those who impressed.

- It felt like it was the first time it was released for me in the national team and it was fun.

Before this match, I had taken a completely different role than what I am used to in the national team, she says to SVT Sport and continues:

- I played much more relaxed and relaxed, it may come with the fact that I get such a much bigger role and that I need to take responsibility for delivering in both attack and defense.

"A good job"

SVT Sports expert Elisabeth Egnell was pleased with the Swedish effort - something Lundquist was too.

- I think we do a good job as a team considering that we are a completely new team and that we had so few days before this match.

But in the last period we simply do not have the strength and make too many mistakes in both attack and defense.

We were still pretty close and it feels a bit tough that we lose that it ran away.

She is happy to gain the trust.

- It is a big role to fill after Elin and Frida, but I have to grow into it and I look forward to doing so.

Otherwise, she looks at her season so far in Polish Arka Gdynia.

She has played a lot but not really found the right style of play.

- But it's only at the beginning of the season so it's just to keep fighting.

"Bright future"

The national team has four new national team coaches: Irene Otamiri, Kevin Taylor-Lundgren, Robin Sandberg and David Visscher.

A constellation that surprised positively, according to Lundquist.

- I knew before the camp that all four are very good and competent coaches.

The way they have conveyed their leadership and acted has created a very great sense of security in the group and the team.

They have conveyed that they believe in us and this has created a great deal of self-confidence.

We dared to take open shots, were not afraid and we dared to take a chance.

She believes that the national team has a bright future.

- We need to train more together and hopefully take more steps along the way.

Maybe we can simply win at next year's qualifiers and be part of the fight for the European Championship place.
