William Poromaa was forced to go home earlier from Val Senales, where the national team held its last camp before the start of the season.

Now the 20-year-old is training again, but it is highly uncertain whether he will start in Gällivare this weekend.

- It is doubtful if he will start in Gällivare, says Jan Wall to SVT Sport.

- He does not have much to prove right now.

He has a nice final season last year and has done a very good job this summer.

He has shown that he is with.

It is important not to hurry too fast, it is a long season, Wall continues.

In addition to Poromaa, Johan Häggström and Björn Sandström have also had a bad cold.

- Sandström was bedridden for a few days, it's unusual - they usually do not fold down.

I do not think it will be a start for Björn.

"Stupid to take a chance"

On the women's side, Emma Ribom, who took her first podium place in the World Cup last season, has also been ill.

- I talked to Emma yesterday, she had a normal resting heart rate.

We follow developments day by day.

She would have liked to start in the sprint on Friday.

But it's stupid to take a chance and pull on something worse, then you have to rest.

If the riders do not start in Gällivare, it is primarily a matter of precautionary measures, Wall says.

- We take it day by day, then we will see who comes to the start.

Of course, it is important for many to show in the beginning that they want to go to the World Cup.

Of course, many are super-peppered, it was a long time since they were on the starting line.

But at the same time we do not take any risks, you should be healthy when you start.

"Unsafe to go there"

Frida Karlsson, who gave up the camp in Val Senales, is ready to start in Gällivare.

The 22-year-old gave up the camp in order to be able to train harder at home instead.

- She is young and does not have much experience of height, so it felt too unsafe to go there.

She trained five to six hours a day plus strength, so it was not that she was on the limit, says her coach Per Nilsson to SVT Sport.

SVT Sport broadcasts the competitions from Gällivare starting at 09.30 on Friday on SVT1.
