Anna Swenn Larsson was a great success in 2019 when she won World Cup silver in slalom at home in Åre.
Last year's season, however, she was ruined due to a broken ankle.
The injury meant that she was forced to cancel the entire season and missed the World Cup.
But now Anna Swenn Larsson is back and ready for a comeback.
When the season's first World Cup slalom is decided in Finnish Levi this weekend, Swenn Larsson is selected in the squad.
It will be her first World Cup competition since February 2020.
- I look forward to the weekend and get to start again and I think it will be great fun.
You put in all this time and training to get these opportunities, she says to SVT Sport.
- It's expectant.
Lots of nerves in place and it was a long time ago I got to feel this.
Right now I'm looking forward to it and hope I do not put too much pressure on myself.
"Established skiers"
A total of nine Swedes have been selected for the competitions in Levi.
Among these, four skiers from the development team get the chance.
- We are really charged, looking forward to starting the season with double competitions.
We have had a good autumn and been able to do pretty much everything we have wanted and now in recent weeks we have had good training in northern Sweden and also been a turn to Levi and ridden in the race slope for a few days.
We go there with the ambition that our most established skiers get good results and that several of our younger skiers qualify and take world cup points, says women's coach Per Jonsson in a press release.
Anna Swenn Larsson has now had a few training-free days when she recently got a feeling in her back after a ride in Kiruna.
- It's nothing serious, just a stretch and I have taken an extra day off, she says and continues:
- I have not been so worried.
"Must be so fucking raw"
Swenn Larsson points out that she in Levi will use her speed when she enters the precipice.
- I know I have to be so fucking raw and stand tall and not shoot the skis in front of me.
Where do you stand then (regarding the form)?
- I do not know.
We'll see, quite simply.
I try to remove everything with a focus on results and just focus on my riding.
And of course: everyone knows that you are a devilish competition person, I will not hide that under a chair.
