A major crisis threatens the existence of Zamalek club

The treasurer of the Egyptian club Zamalek, Tariq Jibril, revealed the value of the financial debts to be paid to the club, estimated, according to his assurances, at one billion and 250 million pounds.

Jibril said in statements to the “ETC” TV channel: “Zamalek is on the verge of a real disaster if no intervention is made to solve the outstanding financial problems that threaten the club’s existence in general, as he said, and FIFA may push to take a decision to relegate Zamalek to the first degree, in case The sums awarded against the club have not been paid.”

Jibril added: "Zamalek owes more than 200 million pounds to external parties, and the rest of the debts are owed to agencies, bodies and a ministry inside Egypt."

He pointed out that: "The current committee has paid about 70 million pounds to end the crises of some players and coaches with whom the club illegally terminated their contracts."
