Dutch national team captain Louis van Gaal injured his hip when he fell off a bicycle outside the national team hotel on Sunday.

The 70-year-old thus got to follow the team's training from a golf cart and says that he will use a wheelchair during the World Cup qualifier against Norway on Tuesday.

- It hurts quite a bit, physically.

It is said that it can be a fracture in the hip bone but I can work full time with the brain.

And leading a team is mostly about the verbal, says van Gaal via a video link at the national team's press conference.

Liverpool midfielder Virgil van Dijk had a hard time keeping the concepts when the coach appeared on the screen and had to hide a strained smile several times.

- He followed the training from a golf cart, so it was as if nothing had happened.

Mentally, he is as usual, he is one hundred percent focused on taking us to the World Cup, says the Liverpool profile.

- There is nothing wrong with the brain so I can think.

I am always positive and when it comes to that part, there are no problems, says van Gaal.

The Netherlands leads Group G two points ahead of Turkey and Norway and secures the World Cup place in a draw against Norway in Rotterdam on Tuesday night.

The match will be played without an audience at De Kuip as the spread of infection has gained momentum.
