Algeria national football team coach Djamel Belmadi said on Monday that next year's World Cup in Qatar will be the best ever, describing the match against Burkina Faso in the World Cup qualifiers as a "big battle."

This came in a press conference held by Jamal Belmadi, before his country's match against Burkina Faso on Tuesday, during which he stated that the Qatar World Cup "will be the best ever in the history of football."

The Algerian coach indicated that he lived in Qatar and knows their capabilities at a very high level, and witnessed the excellence in the organization, explaining this by saying: "I know their capabilities (Qataris) in organizing high-level sports competitions."

He continued, "I saw (in Qatar) the excellence in organization, and during the Arab Cup, we will have a better idea."

He added, "I had the luck to play an interview a few days ago in a stadium that will host the World Cup matches with the Secretary General of FIFA (Gianni Infantino), the former Brazilian international player Cafu and others. Believe me, it was extraordinary."

Belmadi praised the sports facilities that will host the World Cup, saying: "The stadiums are wonderful, the facilities, the quality of reception, the quality of life and the temperatures are very appropriate, and I am speaking objectively."

Looking forward to the FIFA World Cup™️ 🥳

World Cup qualifiers

In a related context, Djamel Belmadi described Algeria's match, Tuesday, against Burkina Faso, in the last round of the group stage of the African qualifiers for the World Cup, as a "big battle."

Belmadi pointed out that his country is required to win and not play for a draw to qualify for the final round of the qualifiers.

He cited what happened to Portugal, on Sunday, against Serbia, which was defeated in the last breath of the match, while a draw qualified it to the World Cup.

Belmadi confirmed that qualifying for the World Cup "Qatar 2022" and watching the Algerian fans on the Doha Corniche, will be preceded by another major battle next March in the Al-Sadd matches (the final round).

On a question about the series of matches without defeat for the Algerian Al-Menthab, which amounted to 32 matches, Belmadi replied by saying, "There will come a day when we will be defeated, but not tomorrow against Burkina Faso."

Algeria leads the first group of African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with 13 points, two points ahead of Burkina Faso.
