At least six months after receiving the second dose of covid-19 vaccine, it is conceivable to receive a third dose to strengthen protection.

The Swedish Public Health Agency expects that a larger part of the population will probably be offered a refill dose in 2022. But for the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) it is not relevant to - as before the Summer Olympics in Tokyo - work to get a vaccination on a broad front.

- All active (in Tokyo) were vaccinated during the summer and then winter active hung on in the agreement we made with Pfizer and Sophiahemmet.

So six months after that, you might be able to get a third syringe in January, says Peter Reinebo, operations manager at SOK.

In theory, further vaccination of the Swedish Winter Olympics is possible, but the problem is that the Olympics will start as early as 4 February.

- It will be a little too close, because you do not know.

Some people get a little naughty some week and it is a very stupid situation to get naughty.

So it is not relevant for the active, says Reinebo.

Among other things, the long-distance star Charlotte Kalla experienced that she was strongly affected in connection with the fact that she received the two vaccine injections this summer.

Having received the first two doses is more or less a prerequisite for being able to compete in the Olympics, given the quarantine rules that otherwise come into force.

- It is double vaccination that applies to enter China.

Otherwise, the 21-day quarantine applies, even if you have accreditation, says the SOK manager.
