Aguero denies 'rumors' that he won't play again

Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero denied rumors of his intention to end his football career due to heart problems, stressing that he hopes to return to the field within three months.

The 33-year-old Argentine was taken to hospital after suffering from breathing problems during Barcelona's match against Deportivo Alaves on October 30 in the local league.

After evaluating his heart condition, the club said that Aguero would be "unavailable to play for his country, and during the next three months, the effectiveness of treatment will be evaluated to determine the process of his recovery."

But Catalunya Radio reported Friday that Aguero "will not play football again because of a serious heart problem".

The former Manchester City star responded on Twitter to say it was not.

Aguero confirmed that he is "always positive," adding, "There are rumors circulating, but I follow the opinion of the club's doctor and we will see how I am in 90 days."

Aguero left Manchester City, crowned with 15 titles, last summer after contributing to his country's victory in the "Copa America" title last July.

Aguero left City as their all-time leading scorer with 260 goals, and with the most goals scored for a single club in Premier League history (184 goals in 275 matches).

Before his move to Barcelona on a free transfer, Aguero suffered from an infection with the “Covid-19” virus.

The beginning of Aguero's second adventure in the Spanish League, after he fought with Atletico Madrid between 2006 and 2011, was not successful, as he suffered from injury and was content to participate in five games and one goal.
