Hareb said: “The Dubai Fitness Challenge has succeeded in raising health awareness and taking it to new levels, with a renewed focus on the concept of holistic health and attention to other essential elements of health such as nutrition, mental health and physical fitness. Looking at the number of participants in the first cycle of the Dubai Fitness Challenge in 2017, we find that 786,000 participated in the challenge, while the number in four years has almost doubled, this increasing number of participants is the best testimony to the excellence of this event and the concept it creates about health and fitness.”

He explained, “Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of this challenge is the changes that occur in the participants’ patterns within 30 days, as it is designed primarily to establish healthy habits and make a lasting impact on the lifestyle of each participant, as more than 75% of the participants continue to exercise three times over a period of 30 days. At least a week after the challenge ends, and what makes me most proud of the Dubai Fitness Challenge is the positive impact it has had on the health of young people in our city. Last year alone, more than 620,000 students from 600 schools pledged to participate in this event, and this year we expect again To see these distinct numbers of participation.”

The Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council revealed that there are many studies conducted around the world, explaining the relationship between sport and happiness, as research has consistently shown that sport directly affects the health of the individual physically, emotionally and mentally, and research also revealed that people who participate in sports and physical activity They have higher levels of self-confidence, happiness, and life satisfaction.
