For his part, a member of the Board of Directors of the former Football Association, Dr. Salim Al Shamsi, confirmed that the use of foreign rule by some clubs despite its high financial cost is evidence of the dissatisfaction of these clubs, and their lack of confidence in the local government, so these clubs are forced to pay this high cost, in exchange for not losing them. The results of their matches due to refereeing errors.

In detail, the referee of the local arena receives per match in the UAE league the amount of 5000 dirhams, while the two assistant referees receive 4000 dirhams each, and the fourth referee gets 2500 dirhams, while the two referees of the video technology “mouse” receive 2500 dirhams each, for a total of 20500 dirhams.

It is noteworthy that the foreign referee appeared for the first time in the league this season through the match between Al-Ahly and Al-Jazira youth, within the seventh round led by a refereeing team led by the Turkish referee Cüneyt Şakir, while the match between Sharjah and Al-Wehda in the ninth round was led by a German referee team led by international referee Tobias Steller.

The Football Association has set several conditions for clubs to attract foreign arbitration teams in the UAE League, including that the club requesting foreign arbitration bears the financial cost of 170,000 dirhams, provided that the club submits its request at least 21 days before the date of the match, and is committed to paying the fees and sending The amount is a maximum of three working days from the date of submitting the application.

The Football Association has specified for each club the use of a foreign referee in a maximum of two matches, in the President’s Cup or the League competitions.

Al Shamsi indicated that he supports the continuation of the experience of using foreign referees in the UAE league, but it is not at such a high financial cost, given that there are clubs that cannot afford this cost.

Al Shamsi considered that the German referee, Tobias Stiller, appeared with a strong personality during his leadership of the match between Sharjah and Al Wahda, considering that the referee needs to show a strong personality due to the importance of this, noting that the referee in the event of losing his personality, everyone will object to his arbitration decisions.
