Today, Monday, the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation launched a campaign across all its accounts on social media to integrate the community and motorsport enthusiasts in the country, to be part of the event to attend the 2021 Ooredoo Qatar Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The "Lusail Stars" campaign includes a large number of local and international sports stars and celebrities who will compete for the fastest lap at the Lusail International Circuit, and the list of stars includes: Qatar Olympic gold medalist Mutaz Barshim, rally champion 3-time Dakar Rally winner Nasser Al-Attiyah, As well as the French World Cup champion Marcel Desailly.

Videos of the competition will be posted every day of the week on the @losailcircuit, @QMMF_official Twitter and Instagram accounts before the fastest tour will be announced.

Two weeks from now, the lights of the Losail International Circuit will shine green, announcing the start of the 2021 Ooredoo Qatar Formula 1 Grand Prix. As well as foods to suit all tastes and a number of different entertainment options.

Amr Al Hamad, Executive Director of the Qatar Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, said, "The main objective of the campaign is to take advantage of the opportunity provided by Formula 1 to promote motorsport in the State of Qatar, and spread enthusiasm before the start of the races on November 19. Formula 1 racing is one of the most famous sports in the world, There is no doubt that Qatar’s hosting of one of its races proves its position as a prestigious destination for international sporting events.”

Al Hamad touched on the star campaign, and said, "We want to share with the local community the Formula 1 experience through our accounts on social media, where they can learn more about Formula 1, the upcoming race, and motorsport in general. A limited number of tickets remain on the circuit's website. Lusail International is for those who want to enjoy watching the race.”

The full list of stars participating in the Lusail Stars campaign includes:

  • Qatar Olympic high jump champion Mutaz Barshim.

  • Rally driver Nasser Al-Attiyah, winner of the Dakar Rally 3 times.

  • Al-Jazeera anchor, Ola Al-Faris.

  • French World Cup champion Marcel Desailly.

  • Australian Football Legend and Aspire Academy Head of Sports Tim Cahill.

  • Al-Duhail club striker and Qatari international Al-Moez Ali.

  • Qatar Olympic rowing athlete Tala Abu Jbara.

  • Racing driver and motorsport influencer Archie Hamilton.

  • Former Dutch national team player and BN analyst Nigel de Jong.

  • Egyptian football legend Mohamed Aboutrika.

Qatar is hosting a Formula 1 race for the first time in its history, after it intervened to provide support to ensure that the 2021 race calendar was completed within a short period of time. 2023 and in the following ten years to 2032.
