The Liverpool team, led by German coach Jurgen Klopp, failed to achieve two main goals, as it lost 2-3 to its host West Ham United in the English Premier League, and failed to achieve a historic achievement.

Liverpool arrived at the Olympic Stadium in the British capital, London, knowing that if he avoided losing, he would extend his unbeaten run to 26 games in a row, breaking the club's record set by coach Bob Paisley's team in 1982.

Liverpool were looking to do just that, having equalized with a superb free kick by Trent Alexander-Arnold before the end of the first half.

But West Ham had great ambitions this season, and he proved that in the second half when he added the second goal through Pablo Fornals, who also took the corner kick put by Liverpool goalkeeper Alison Becker, by mistake, scoring the first goal for the London team at the beginning of the match.

Then the Frenchman Kurt Zouma scored a third goal for West Ham, and despite reducing the difference by Liverpool striker Divock Origi 7 minutes before the end, the "Hammers" team maintained their victory.

However, Klopp was adamant that West Ham's first goal should not have counted, noting that Angelo Ogbonna, the home team player, had obstructed Alisson, and felt that Aaron Cresswell, of the London team, should have received a red card in the first half, Because of his violent confrontation with Jordan Henderson, captain of Liverpool.

Klopp said, "In the first half we had complete control of the match, scored a great goal and dominated the course of things."

"In the second half they scored from a rebound and a free kick," Klopp added. "But it also happened because in the second half we had to control the game. It was as if we lost patience."

"So we lost that match. But I think it's a clear mistake on Alisson, so how can he not? When you see the dynamics of the situation, how can it not be a mistake?"

"Then I saw the collision that took place between Aaron and Henderson now, and the way I see it is that it's a clear red card. There is no discussion. You can't go to that challenge."

This became the first victory for West Ham coach David Moyes, in 8 attempts against Klopp, bringing the team's tally to 23 points in third place in the championship standings, a point ahead of Liverpool, who fell to fourth place, before the international break.

"I think we deservedly won," Moyes said. "You can see the quality and the behavior of the players."

"I want us to challenge the teams in the top four, whoever they are. I put this challenge to the players. Hopefully one of them will be us."

He pointed out that "today (yesterday) was a challenge, Liverpool were in good shape, but we have some flexibility, counter-attacks and corner kicks are not a bad recipe."

"The most important thing is that this is a lot of pressure on any club," Moyes concluded.
