The supporters of Costa Rica have just taken a moral blow.

They will have to do without Keylor Navas, an often decisive player in previous meetings.

The PSG goalkeeper was indeed injured in an elbow on Saturday in Bordeaux and will be forfeited for the next two games of his national team in qualifying for the World-2022.

On the other hand, he has a little more time to recover in time for the next meeting in Paris.

The capital club must receive Nantes on November 20 for the 14th day of Ligue 1.

"An MRI revealed that the player suffered from a sprained right elbow, with difficulty reaching out," the Costa Rican Football Federation (Fedefutbol) announced.

Costa Rica faces Canada on November 12 in Edmonton, and Honduras four days later in San José in the Concacaf zone qualifiers (North America, Central America and the Caribbean).

Six points in six games

To replace Navas, coach Luis Fernando Suarez has called Kevin Briceno, goalkeeper of Club Sport Cartaginés (Costa Rica).

But the holder for the next two meetings will probably be the N.2 in this position, Leonel Moreira, from the club of Alajuelense (Costa Rica).

With six points after six days (1 victory, 3 draws, 2 defeats), Costa Rica is 5th out of the eight nations in its qualifying pool, where the first three will directly qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.
