In the blog post published on Tuesday, 35-year-old Peng Shuai talks about abuse that is said to have taken place ten years ago.

"I was so scared that afternoon.

I never gave my consent, I cried all the time, "she writes according to NPR.

The blog post, which was published on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, was up for about 20 minutes before it was removed.

According to Shuai, Peng Shuai and Zhang Gaoli must have had a relationship for several years which, according to her, was not voluntary from the beginning but should have started with a sexual assault.

The two broke off the relationship in connection with Zhang Gaoli becoming Deputy Prime Minister.

A few years later, contact was resumed when Zhang Gaoli invited the tennis star home for dinner.

Peng Shuai states that he allegedly raped her in the afternoon while his wife was on guard outside the door.

Had a big impact

After the blog post disappeared, Peng Shuai also disappeared.

No one has heard from her or seen her.

Her social media has been cleared and the later post that remains is over a year old.

SVT's Asia correspondent, Ulrika Bergsten says that the event had a major impact in China.

- She has reposted her taken-down posts, which they have managed to recreate in different ways, I think 7 million times.

And the censors have chased after and shut down.

It is claimed that you can not even search for "tennis" anymore, she says in Morgonstudion.

Peng Shuai was world number one in doubles in 2014 but has not played at the top level since 2020.
