The planning site of the National Speed Skating Stadium adopts the site of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games hockey and archery temporary venues. The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and the Winter Paralympics (hereinafter referred to as the Beijing Winter Olympics) will host speed skating competitions, and a total of 14 pieces will be born. gold medal.

Smart applications are one of the features of this Winter Olympics venue that can accommodate more than 10,000 spectators.

Li Jiulin, deputy general manager and chief engineer of the National Speed Skating Hall Company, mentioned that the National Speed Skating Hall adopts intelligent construction technology, and most of the components are constructed in the factory and assembled on site.

With the help of building information models, the designer first builds an "ice ribbon" in the digital world.

The façade is assembled by 3360 curved glass units.

The glass used in the curved curtain wall has a different curvature for each size, all of which are customized in the factory and installed on-site through the building information model.

Zheng Fang, the chief design officer of the National Speed Skating Hall Company, said that the intelligent sports management system, spectator watching management and venue management system are like equipping the National Speed Skating Hall with a "brain".

He mentioned that temperature stratification can be achieved through intelligent management in the "ice ribbon": one temperature on the ice surface ensures a stable ice surface standard; one temperature in the competition space ensures the athlete's body temperature and body feel, which is conducive to creating the best results; one temperature in the auditorium , About 16℃, creating a comfortable watching environment.

Entering the "Ice Ribbon", what you see is the world's largest ice surface using carbon dioxide transcritical direct cooling ice making system.

Ma Jin, head of ice-making system design of the National Speed Skating Stadium Company, said that the carbon dioxide transcritical direct cooling ice-making system can provide athletes with the best ice surface. The temperature of the part is different, and the hardness of the ice surface is uneven.

Ma Jin mentioned that while this system is cooling, the waste heat generated by the stadium will be recycled for athletes' domestic hot water, ice melting pool, ice surface maintenance and ice pouring, etc., which can save about 2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity a year.

From April to October this year, this 12,000 square meter piece of ice has undergone domestic testing activities and the "Meet in Beijing" Speed Skating China Open.

Li Jiulin said that systems such as ice making optimization, equipment and facility management, indoor environment management and control, and safety management have been integrated into the smart stadium operating system, and are currently being continuously tested and improved to strive for higher reliability to support the Beijing Winter Olympics. use.

Li Jiulin said that he is testing the independently developed Venue Alliance APP, which will integrate the services and functions of multiple venues including the National Speed Skating Stadium in the future. Spectators are expected to enjoy positioning navigation, intelligent viewing, language translation and other services during the game.

The National Speed Skating Stadium, which has a "smart brain", will also provide spectators, event organizations and participants with a high-quality viewing experience and complete service guarantee in the future.

During the Winter Olympics, athletes will take a bus to enter the preparation area on the southeast side of the stadium.

Entering this area, you will see the "Venue Record Wall", which shows the personal and "Ice Ribbon" venue records created by athletes during the "Meet in Beijing" Speed Skating China Open in October. They are also quietly waiting for the new record. Creator.

Along the record wall, there are 14 locker rooms for athletes, a warm-up area for athletes of nearly 1,000 square meters and a strength room of approximately 700 square meters.

According to the athletes' habits before and after the game, each locker room is equipped with multiple lockers and stools, and related toiletries and epidemic prevention materials will be equipped during the game.

The strength room is equipped with two categories of fitness equipment, aerobic training and anaerobic training, for athletes to warm up before the game.

The "Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Legacy Report (2020)" released by the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee in June shows that the National Speed Skating Stadium will become a multi-functional venue for Beijing residents to participate in sports after the game. A multifunctional ice center integrating sports events, mass fitness, cultural leisure, exhibitions, and social welfare.

After the Beijing Winter Olympics, the venues and facilities in the preparation area for athletes will also serve as part of the Olympic heritage and provide services for ice sports experiencers who come to the "Ice Ribbon".
