VfL Wolfsburg has spectacularly won the top game in the women's Bundesliga.

Despite a 2-0 deficit, the German cup winners still won 3-2 (1-2) against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Dominique Janssen only scored the winning goal in stoppage time (90 + 3).

Instead of the Frankfurt women, VfL will at least initially take the lead in front of the German champions Bayern Munich.

Eintracht had a much better start in Wolfsburg and Lara Prašnikar (4th) scored the first goal early.

Prašnikar completed a cross from Shekiera Martinez after a clever turn to make it 1-0.

Wolfsburg then had several chances to score the next goal, but Laura Freilang (20th) increased for Eintracht.

A technically excellent free kick by Dominique Janssen brought VfL back in the first half.

From a central position in front of the penalty area, she gave goalkeeper Merle Frohms no chance and hit the corner with precision.

With the 2: 1 from Frankfurt's point of view, it then went into the half-time break.

It was Dutch Jill Roord who scored 2-2 after a corner in the 66th minute.

In the fourth minute of stoppage time, which was originally supposed to last only three minutes, VfL Wolfsburg was awarded a free kick.

Felicitas Rauch crossed this into the penalty area, where Dominique Janssen was back and Merle Frohms had no chance to defend himself from close range.

In the end, the Wolfsburg win was deserved, as the hosts gave away numerous great chances during the entire 90 minutes.

The best woman from Frankfurt was the national goalkeeper Merle Frohms.
