Los Angeles defender Tobias Björnfot (formerly Djurgården) scored his first two points of the season and was behind the winning goal when his performance gave Alex Iafallo an open goal.

- I'm just trying to play my own game, and it feels good now.

The coach (Todd McLellan) wants to see me play more offensively and become a threat going forward and I try that, says 20-year-old Björnfot at the press conference after the match.

Long-term bottom team Buffalo has started the season with five victories in the first seven matches and went to a 2-0 lead after goals from Rasmus Asplund and Victor Olofsson.

"Deserved victory"

But Los Angeles rode to victory against Montreal a day earlier and Carl Grundström reduced to 1-2 for the Kings.

The three Swedish goals came in just over five minutes in the second period.

Two home goals in the final period completed the turnaround.

Anze Kopitar equalized in numerical superiority after a pass point from Adrian Kempe before Iafallo scored the winning goal played by Björnfot and Kempe.

- I think we played pretty well the whole match.

We knew that they would go out hard and they got to some goals as well.

But we fought back in third and I definitely think we deserved the victory, says Kempe after the match.

- We put a lot of focus on it and really wanted to get to the game in both numerical superiority and inferiority, and we succeeded, got a couple of goals in powerplay and did not let in anything with a man sent off.

Arvidsson out, Grundström in

Grundström, who did not play against Montreal, had to jump into the team when Viktor Arvidsson was forced to step down during the warm-up - with suspected covid infection.

- Last season prepared us for something like this.

Losing a player during the warm-up today shook us a little, but everyone managed it well, says Kings coach Todd McLellan.

The victory was Los Angeles' third of the season, lifting the team from last place in the Pacific Division.
