The arrival of the Qatari club's coach Xavi to the Camp Nou is taking longer than expected, although Barcelona club president Joan Laporta began working on this access once Ronald Koeman was sacked.

The two sides want to conclude the deal, but the Qatari club is reluctant to allow the Catalan coach to leave.

The newspaper "Marca" quoted its sources as saying that "the Qatari club is angry at the way Barcelona dealt with the deal, as it has been completed, although it has not communicated with Al-Sadd directly, at least until now."

Laporta and his board of directors know that he will have to negotiate with the Qatari club to bring Xavi to Barcelona.

Al-Sadd - who remained silent on the matter - tweeted, "In response to what has been circulated recently, the Al-Sadd management confirms once again that Xavi has a two-year contract with the club and is fully focused on the team's next match, to maintain the top of the league and defend the title."

Xavi himself has also avoided discussing the speculation publicly, as his team is undefeated so far this season.

When asked about Barcelona, he answered, "I am very focused on my work with Al Sadd and I do not want to talk about anything else."

Barcelona seems calmly confident and in no hurry.

He has not communicated with the dam yet, because Xavi will do it himself, with Barca entering the talks late, and at the moment he prefers to wait and watch what happens.
