Cameroonian Eto'o announces his candidate for the Ballon d'Or

Former Barcelona and Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o revealed the player who deserves to win the 2021 Ballon d'Or award presented by the French magazine "France Football" at the upcoming awards ceremony, next November 29 in Paris.

Eto'o spoke about his opinion on who deserves the award during his interview with the Spanish newspaper "Marca", and said: "I have always given my vote to my friend and little brother, Lionel Messi."

He continued, "I appreciate him a lot as a person and as a player, I watched him grow up, respect him and love him so much."

He added: "For me he is still the best in the world, if we exclude Leo, there are other players that I like like Karim Benzema."

He concluded his statements: "Karim has taken the responsibility of Real Madrid on his shoulders since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, and therefore I love everything he does for the benefit of his team."
