A painful blow to Barcelona before facing Dinaco Kiev in the Champions League

Barcelona announced on Sunday that its veteran defender Gerard Pique suffers from a calf injury that will at least rule him out of his team's match against Ukraine's Dinaco Kiev in the Champions League next Tuesday.

Pique left the field limping in the match against Alaves (1-1) in the 70th minute.

The Catalan club announced on its social networking sites that the heart of its defense was suffering from pain in the right calf, before the tests he underwent yesterday morning revealed, injury.

Barcelona is suffering in the league, as it scored one point in the last three matches, knowing that it sacked Dutch coach Ronald Koeman in the middle of this week and temporarily replaced him with Serge Barjuan.
