In a drug raid in eastern Romania, a large part of the racing bikes were found that were stolen from the Italian national track cycling team a week ago on the sidelines of the World Championships in Roubaix.

The police department announced.

Four people were taken into custody in the course of the investigation and searches.

The Italian team around Olympic and world champion Filippo Ganna had 22 high-performance bikes from a luxury brand stolen from a van parked in front of the hotel.

They should have a total value of 600,000 euros.

After the Olympic victory of the four-wheeler in Tokyo, they were painted in a striking gold.

21 bikes were found in the raid along with other stolen goods and drugs.

The police said at a press conference that the suspects had tried to sell the stolen bikes for 1,500 euros each.
