A hate crime chasing a Barcelona fan because of “Vinicius”

Real star Vinicius was subjected to racist abuse in El Clasico.

The Spanish League has reported that the Brazilian Real Madrid player, Vinicius Junior, was subjected to racist abuse by a Barcelona fan, during the two teams' match in the "Classico" of Spanish football, to the local authorities.

The incident came when Vinicius was on his way out of the "Camp Nou" stadium after being substituted in the 87th minute, after his team's 2-1 victory over Barcelona last Sunday.

The Spanish League decided to report the incident to the Barcelona Public Prosecutor's Office, as a hate crime.

A statement from the La Liga said: “Following the events that accompanied the match that took place at the Camp Nou last Sunday, in which a fan of the host team insulted the Real Madrid player, Vinicius, with racist terms, the League will continue to report the incident to the Hate Crimes Chamber of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. This is in accordance with the text of Article 510 of the Penal Code.
