In the Emperor's Cup and All Japan Championship, which compete for the best soccer in Japan, four quarter-finals were played and the best four were available.

Kawasaki Frontale vs. Kashima Antlers aiming for the second straight victory, Frontale won 3-1.



In the 32nd minute of the first half, Frontale took the lead with an own goal from a corner kick, and in the second half, Reo Hatate and Yasuto Wakizaka scored two goals, limiting the Antlers' counterattack to one goal and winning the game.



Gamba Osaka vs Urawa Reds won the Reds 2-0.



In the first half of the Reds, Kasper Junker and Takahiro Sekine scored goals and escaped with a solid defense.

Last runner-up Gamba disappeared in the quarterfinals.



Nagoya Grampus vs. Cerezo Osaka was won by Cerezo 3-0.



Cerezo, aiming for the top of the four tournaments, overwhelmed the Grampus with goals such as Koji Toriumi.



Jubilo Iwata vs. Oita Trinita of J2, who was the only one to win other than the J1 team, was won by Trinita 2-0.



Trinita broke the equilibrium with Shun Nagasawa's goal in the 20th minute of the second half, and Kazuki Fujimoto scored an additional point just before the end to advance to the semi-finals for the first time.
