Former national soccer player Bernd Nickel is dead. His former club announced this on Wednesday, citing the 72-year-old's son.

The club legend of Eintracht Frankfurt has scored 163 goals in a total of 481 games and, with 141 Bundesliga goals, is second in the all-time goalscorer list for Hessen.
