Bayern coach Hansi Flick formed a strong team when his team visited Borussia Mönchengladbach in the round of 16 of the German Cup.

But it did not go quite as he had imagined.

It took off - right away.

Koaduio Manu Koné gave Mönchengladbach the lead when the match was just two minutes young and 13 minutes later it was time again.

Ramy Bensebaïni netted first in the 15th minute, then extended to 3-0 six minutes later.

The second half did not get much better for Bayern.

Breel Embolo had to net - twice.

First he was played by Nico Elvedi in the 51st minute of the match and in the 57th minute he completed the final score to 5-0.

The loss is Bayern Munich's biggest since December 9, 1978, when the team lost to Fortuna Düsseldorf by 1-7.

Before today's event, the Munich team had scored in 85 (!) Straight matches, all contexts.

A total of 267 hits were landed on these.

The victory takes Mönchengladbach to the round of 16.
