Victor Olofsson both started and finished the shooting when Buffalo won against Tampa Bay at home in NHL ice hockey.

The Swedish forward received help from his teammate Robert Hägg, who started the attack where Olofsson after just under two minutes placed a return in open box.

Hägg was later able to puncture the match when he made it 4-1 in the final period - both that goal and Olofsson's 5-1 came when the guests in a final forcing took out the goalkeeper.

But 5-1 does not reflect the match picture.

The first period was a fight where the guests just received a receipt.

In the second, it was then Tampa Bay who was on for a lead goal, but goalkeeper Craig Anderson stopped everything that got in his way.

"Must respect the opponent"

The fact that Buffalo through Drake Caggiula could take the lead did not affect coach Don Granato's view of the match.

The team got a stretch after their weak second period in terms of play.

- I had a message for them.

I did not like what was happening and I said that we needed to stand up better, he says at the press conference after the match.

- You have to respect the opponent, but not show too much respect, it would be a big mistake.

His words had the desired effect, at least purposefully.

Anderson continued to hold tight and as Tampa Bay put everything forward, the team was able to expand its lead.

"We maneuvered them out"

- That was the reigning champions.

It's a really good hockey team, but we came out ready to fight, put on our blue spots and maneuvered them out.

This is a tough league to play in and a tough league to win matches in. The guys should have great praise for their job tonight, says match hero Anderson himself.

The victory was Buffalo's fourth this fall and the team has started unexpectedly strong.

For Tampa Bay, the loss was the third in the season opener.

- We must not be frustrated.

It felt like we had the puck pretty much all the time, but you can not relax and feel safe, no matter who you meet or how the match picture is, says coach Jon Cooper.
