Atlanta Braves reached the World Series in the night from Saturday to Sunday (Dutch time).

The Braves defeated defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the playoffs to advance to the Major League Baseball (MLB) Finals for the first time in 22 years.

The sixth head-to-head game between Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers ended in a 4-2 win for the Atlanta team, ending the best-of-seven series.

24-year old Ozzie Albies, who comes from Curaçao, accounted for the Braves' first run in the first inning.

He was able to cross home plate after a hit by batter Austin Riley.

In the fourth inning, the Dodgers tied the score (1-1), but the home team hit back hard in the inning's own at bat with a homerun by Eddie Rosario.

He took Travis d'Arnaud and Ehire Adrianza across home plate: 4-1.

In the seventh inning, the visitors from Los Angeles were able to add another run: 4-2.

Atlanta Braves are in the World Series for the sixth time in club history.

The last time was in 1999. The club last won the World Series in 1995.

Opponent in the upcoming finals of the MLB is the Houston Astros, which dealt with the Boston Red Sox and qualified for the World Series for the third time in the past five years.

Game one is Tuesday in Houston.
