Professional baseball Doosan pitcher Miranda made a big mark in Korean baseball history. It is the first time in 37 years that the record for most strikeouts in a season set by the late coach Choi Dong-won.

Miranda, who struck out three strikeouts to the new record, started the strikeout streak by striking out LG Chae Eun-seong in the first inning.

After tying Choi Dong-won in 1984 by sacrificing Lee Young-bin in the second inning, he struck out Hong Chang-ki in the third inning, setting a new record for the most in a season with 224.

To the applauding fans and colleagues, Miranda took off her hat and expressed her gratitude.

Doosan escaped from a two-game losing streak in the ninth with a ground ball from Park Geon-woo following Jung Soo-bin's triple in the ninth.
