In the short course competition where Hwang Seon-woo, the 'hope of Korean swimming', participated for the first time, he also won the bronze medal in the 100m freestyle following the 100m individual medley.

Hwang Seon-woo placed third in the men's 100m freestyle final on the second day of the second day of the FINA Management World Cup 2021 3rd tournament held at the Hamad Aquatic Center in Doha, Qatar with a time of 46.46 seconds.

Only Australia's Kyle Chalmers (45.03) and Russia's Vladimir Morozov (46.31) were ahead of Hwang Seon-woo.

Chalmers is a world champion in the 100m freestyle, winning a gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The Management World Cup is a short course (single water course) event held in a 25m long pool, not the Olympic standard 50m regular course (long course).

This is the first time Hwang Seon-woo has competed in a short course event.

Sunwoo Hwang's main events are the 100m and 200m freestyle.

In the 100m freestyle long course, in the semifinals of the Tokyo Olympics held in July, he set an Asian record of 47.56 seconds and a world junior record.

Hwang Seon-woo finished third with a record of 52.30 in the 100m individual medley, which is not the main event yesterday, and harvested the first medal in the international competition.

In the preliminary round, Seon-Woo Hwang took first place among 26 players in 47 seconds 08 and advanced to the final, where 10 people compete.

Hwang Seon-woo, who stood at the starting line of Lane 4 in the final, was 5th in the 50m section, but then spurted and finished the race in 3rd place.

Chalmers, who took 1st place, split the current in Lane 3 right next to Sun-Woo Hwang.

Seon-woo Hwang and Chalmers competed side by side in lanes 6 and 7, respectively, in the final of the Tokyo Olympics, and Seon-woo Hwang finished fifth at the time.

Hwang Seon-woo will compete in the 200m freestyle on the 23rd, the last day of the competition.

Kim Woo-min was the first of the three contestants to finish the men's 1,500m freestyle in 14:44.58, winning the first gold medal of the Korean team.

Teammate Lee Ho-jun, who came with me, was ranked third with a record of 15 minutes 16 seconds 11.

Ha-eun Jeong, who was the national open water swimmer of the 2019 Gwangju World Championships, finished third among the four contestants in the women's individual medley 400m, the main event, with a time of 4:37.53.

Won Young-jun, who competed in the men's 50m backstroke, also won the bronze medal in the final with a time of 23.70, while Lee Joo-ho tied for fourth place with a time of 24.14.

Baek Soo-yeon, the eldest sister of the national team, 30 years old, took third place with a record of 1:07.35 in the 100m breaststroke in which four people participated, and collected the second bronze medal following the 200m breaststroke the previous day.

The Korean national team has won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, and 7 bronze medals so far.
