The national team drops its FIFA rankings to 71

The negative results suffered by the UAE national football team this month, with the loss from Iran and a draw with Iraq in the World Cup qualifiers, caused it to decline further in the FIFA monthly ranking, as it moved from 69th place according to the September classification to 71st in the October classification.

While globally, the French national team, crowned in the second edition of the European Football Championship, returned to third place, behind leaders Belgium and second Brazil.

France had abandoned third place in favor of England in the classification last September because of its modest results at the time in the continental qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, in exchange for the brilliance of the "Three Lions" team.

Spain, the runner-up to the Nations League, rose one rank to become seventh at the expense of Portugal, the champion of the first edition of the modern continental competition, which fell to eighth place.

In the Arab world, Tunisia is still in the lead, although it has fallen two places globally to the twenty-seventh, in front of Morocco, which rose four places and became the twenty-ninth, and Algeria, which remained in the thirty-first place.

Egypt rose four places to the 44th in the world in front of Qatar (it fell from 43 to 46), the first Arab of the Asian continent in front of Saudi Arabia (it rose from 56 to 49), Iraq (72), Oman (from 78 to 77), Syria (from 81 to 85) and Jordan (from 93 to 90), Bahrain (91), Lebanon (from 97 to 92), and Palestine (from 99 to 100).
