José Mourinho experienced the greatest disgrace of his career with AS Roma.

The 58-year-old Portuguese lost on Thursday evening in the Europa Conference League with the Italian first division soccer team at FK Bodö / Glimt from Norway with 1: 6 (1: 2).

The team from north of the Arctic Circle scored four times after the break against fourth place in the Serie A. Mourinho had never conceded six goals with one of his teams in his more than 1000 competitive games.

"I decided to play with this line-up so the responsibility is mine," Mourinho told Sky Sports.

"I did it with good intentions to give those who work hard a chance and rotate the team on an artificial turf pitch in cold weather."

But that went wrong.

“We lost to a team that showed more quality that evening.

It's that simple, ”said Mourinho and was relatively relaxed.

The hosts' outstanding players were Ola Solbakken and Erik Botheim, each with two goals.

Little consolation for Mourinho: In Group C he is still second behind Bodö with AS Roma and still has a good chance of the knockout round.

Championship lead for Monaco

The former coach of Bayern and Eintracht Niko Kovac has taken the lead in the Europa League with AS Monaco.

Monaco won the duel at PSV Eindhoven on Thursday and Mario Götze late 2-1 (1-0) and overtook the Dutch in Group B. Mesut Özil and Fenerbahce Istanbul, on the other hand, are threatened with death.

Myron Boadu (20th) and Sofiane Diop (89th) scored for Monaco, Cody Gakpo (59th) had meanwhile equalized.

Goalkeepers Alexander Nübel and Kevin Volland were in the starting line-up for the guests, while Philipp Max started alongside Götze. Eindhoven slipped to third place in the table.

For Özil and Fenerbahce, however, progress is a long way off.

The Turks lost their lead in 2-2 (2-1) against Royal Antwerp after two goals from Enner Valencia (21./45.) And are already four points behind in second place in Frankfurt Group D.

Jerome Boateng came to a hard-fought 4: 3 (1: 2) victory with Olympique Lyon.

The team of the former Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz was 0-2 behind and turned the game around at Sparta Prague in the second round.

The Glasgow Rangers, meanwhile, draw hope again in Group A after the 2-0 (2-0) against Brondby IF, including the former Mainz Leon Balogun (18th).
