Armand Duplantis and Daniel Ståhl both have the chance to be named male athletes of the year in the world.

The blue-yellow duo is on a list of ten athletes nominated by the International Athletics Federation World Athletics.

The pole vaulter Duplantis won Olympic gold in 2021, and also took home the Diamond League and the gold at the indoor European Championships.

The discus thrower Ståhl also took home an Olympic gold and Diamond League.

Among the other nominees are the Norwegian running duo Karsten Warholm, who was recently named male athlete of the year in Europe, and Jakob Ingebrigtsen, as well as the marathon star Eliud Kipchoge, Kenya.

The prize will be awarded at a gala in December.
