A great disappointment received by the Manchester United fans this season, as it was the soul's wish that "Manio" regain its glories and return to the title track, but the team moves from one failure to another.

Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - who is not worried about his position after the recent disappointing results - has not yet found a starting lineup to rely on, as in each match he changes a number of players;

Which resulted in wasting many points in the Premier League and the Champions League.

The most recent of these heavy losses was the defeat of the star-studded team - led by Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo - against Leicester City 4-2 last Saturday, which derailed Gary Neville, the former captain of the team, who launched a sharp attack on a number of the team's players.

"A number of players are very lazy, and the whole team is horrible and does not have an identity or personality," said Neville, who works as an analyst in a sports channel.

He continued, "They leave space for the opponents, and do not press them enough, they walk on the pitch, especially the offensive line."

And he concluded, "The worst thing is that the team reacts poorly, when it comes to getting back the result, and they become like children when they receive goals."

United have missed points in the last 3 Premier League matches, and will meet Liverpool next week before facing Tottenham and Manchester City, as well as Atalanta in the Champions League in the coming weeks.

Solskjaer extended his contract for 3 years last July, after taking over temporarily in December 2018, and then permanently in March of the following year.

"We've progressed through the years, we were sixth when I took over for half a season, then third and second in the league. You can see the progress. We signed some players who raised expectations," Solskjaer told reporters, before hosting Atalanta tonight.

"There is pressure on me of course. We've had pressure before but we've overcome it. I'm just looking forward to respond now and I'm talking to the club all the time, there's an open dialogue and a frank discussion between us... Every team is going through a period of decline and we're in a bad shape right now. We know that and we know we need to." To get better and hopefully the reaction will come tonight."

United are third in Group F with 3 points from two matches, one point behind leaders Atlanta.

The Norwegian coach also defended Ronaldo against criticism for his lack of pressure in recent matches.

"Cristiano is a great player and we know what he can do. He gives everything he can to help the team. There are 11 players with different roles and responsibilities. We choose the squad that we think will win. We haven't beaten Leicester so there is always criticism when you don't win. Atlanta will be a huge boost forward."
