The Swedish-Ukrainian has signed for two seasons.

- It's crazy cool what commitment there is around Brynäs and I myself am incredibly proud to be part of the fantastic community that exists around the club, says Brynäs sports manager Johan Alcén to the club's website.

Timashov, born in Ukraine but raised in Sweden, traveled to North America as an 18-year-old.

After playing in the Canadian Junior League with the Quebec Remparts, he has played in the NHL and AHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders organizations.

- In "Dima" we see a hungry forward who is still relatively young.

He is in the middle of his career and comes to us because he wants to take the next step.

He has always been a great talent and as recently as the 2019/20 season, he did an entire NHL season, says Johan Alcén.

The transition is made possible in part by the money the supporters raised.

Dmytro Timashov wants to give fans value for their investment in him.

This is what supporters can expect:

- A guy who will work hard, play with a lot of energy and who will contribute offensively, he says to the club's website.
