Brazilian football legend Pele, who recently had surgery to remove a tumor, called on his fans today, Wednesday, to start celebrating his career because he is "closer to the goal."

As if predicting his imminent death.

In what he understood to be mourning himself, Pele wrote on Twitter, "I invite you to prepare to celebrate with me because at the end of each day I am getting closer to the goal."

Pele did not reveal any details, but the former Brazil, Santos and New York Cosmos player - who will complete 81 years on October 23 this year - has been in poor health for some time.

He is now undergoing chemotherapy after removing a tumor last September.
