Daisuke Narimatsu, who has participated in two consecutive Olympic Games in the men's lightweight boxing class, held a press conference and announced that he would retire from active duty.

Daisuke Narimatsu, a light weight boxing player, is 31 years old from Kumamoto City.

He started boxing at the local Kumamoto Agricultural High School and won the All Japan Championship nine times in total, leading Japanese boxing boys.

Following the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, the Olympic Games also participated in this year's Tokyo Games and broke through the first round, but in this game he broke his forehead and abstained from the second round.

Narimatsu announced on the 20th that he will retire from active duty, saying that "it has become difficult to maintain the condition at a high level" at an online press conference.

Regarding the Tokyo Olympics, which was the last tournament in active duty, he said, "I abstained due to injury, but I have no regrets. I was able to exert my strength in the first round, so I couldn't move forward, but I feel refreshed." After talking, he said, "It was a very good boxing life. There is nothing wrong with it."

Regarding local Kumamoto, "I felt that the town was supporting me. I think I was able to give back a little by participating in the Olympics. To the locals Is full of gratitude. "

Narimatsu said, "I want to be involved in boxing in the future. I'm interested in coaching, management, and dissemination. I want to study various fields." ..
