Recently, the Chinese team announced the entry list. The new short track speed skating national team, led by Pyeongchang Winter Olympic champion Wu Dajing, officially debuted. It will participate in four World Cup events this season and strive to obtain full Olympic qualifications.

  Last year, the World Short Track Speed ​​Skating Championships was cancelled due to the new crown epidemic, and the Chinese team has been conducting closed training since then.

A total of 12 athletes including Wu Dajing, Ren Ziwei, Fan Kexin and Han Yutong made their appearance at the 2021-2022 season's expedition ceremony held by the Chinese team.

  From the end of June to the end of September this year, the Chinese team conducted 5 intra-team trials. The top 6 players represented the Chinese team in the World Cup Beijing and Japan.

Subsequent Hungarian and Dutch races will be fine-tuned based on the results of the first two races.

  Appearing with the players is the new coaching team of the national team.

The head coach is South Korean famous Jin Shantai, and the short-track speed skating star An Hyun-soo is the technical coach. He has won 6 Winter Olympic gold medals on behalf of the South Korean team and the Russian team.

  The short track speed skating World Cup in the new season is a qualifying event for the Beijing Winter Olympics. A total of 4 competitions will be set up in Beijing, China, Nagoya, Debrecen, Hungary, and Dordrecht. The schedule will last from October 21 to 11. On the 28th.

  Yu Haiyan, deputy director of the Winter Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration of China, said that the Chinese short track speed skating team has not participated in world competitions for two years and hopes to train the team and accumulate experience through this World Cup, and strive to get the full number of Olympic seats.

  Yu Haiyan also said that the World Cup lineup is only a basic set, and the Beijing Winter Olympics list will evaluate athletes' World Cup performance and other players' training status.

According to reports, the deadline for registration of the Beijing Winter Olympics short track speed skating event is January 24, 2022, and the Chinese team will determine the list of entries before then.
