It was in the first period between Calgary and Anaheim that Matthew Tkachuk - from his position in the replacement booth - stopped a puck from teammate Mikael Backlund from sailing out into the audience and meeting the spectators.
Thanks to Tkachuk's unusual maneuver, everyone survived unscathed, but the American was punished with a two-minute suspension for interference.
He did not seem completely satisfied with the judges' decision and the TV pictures showed how he shook his head from the penalty box.
Anaheim eventually won the match 3-2 after extra time.
