Remko Pasveer fully enjoyed the way Borussia Dortmund was outclassed by Ajax in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Tuesday evening.

Partly due to good goalkeeping by the often criticized goalkeeper, the team from Amsterdam was 4-0 too strong in the Champions League match with the Germans.

"This was a great evening. A great atmosphere, four goals and zero. You can't wish for much more as an Ajax fan," said outstanding Pasveer in conversation with

"This was one of the best matches of my career."

Ajax dominated large parts of the match against Dortmund and led 2-0 after 25 minutes through an own goal from Marco Reus and a goal from Daley Blind.

Antony and Sébastien Haller completed the Amsterdam party after the break, while Pasveer prevented a goal from Dortmund several times.

"I'm glad I could stand there", 37-year-old Pasveer remained sober.

The goalkeeper who came over from Vitesse has been criticized this season and has rarely made an indelible impression so far, but excelled against Dortmund by stopping three dangerous bets from star player Erling Haaland.

"Sometimes you have to grow into it a bit, I think everyone has that with a new team," said Pasveer about his start at Ajax.

"Defensively, we were now very strong. I was able to enjoy a bit at the end, although I stayed sharp at moments that I might have to eliminate. This was really a team effort."

Berghuis: 'The public goes home satisfied'

Like Pasveer, Steven Berghuis was one of the stars on the side of Ajax.

The originally right winger, who was once again preferred by Ten Hag as an attacking midfielder over Davy Klaassen, saw all his 26 passes in the first half and created four chances for teammates before half-time.

"It's nice if you can live up to these kinds of evenings on this stage. I also felt that I was in it," Berghuis told

"Especially in the first half we were very good at the ball and we created many opportunities with depth and combination play."

"We didn't lose the ball very quickly either and I think that made it difficult for Dortmund. I think we just played very well. It was a beautiful evening, the audience goes home satisfied."

Due to the resounding victory over Dortmund, Ajax is still without points loss in the group stage and therefore close to wintering in the Champions League.

The team of trainer Erik ten Hag has three points more than Dortmund and six more than Sporting CP.

Besiktas is still at the bottom of the table.
